Nobody tells you how the loneliness can swallow you whole in the middle of the night. Nobody tells you that the darkness and silence come in like a tidal wave. Sure, you knew that you would have sleepless nights but nobody tells you that those sleepless nights are painted with doubt, confusion, and every single human emotion.
Nobody tells you.
Nobody tells you that the love you have for your children will also swallow you whole at any time of the day or night. If it doesn’t swallow you whole, it will surely knock you straight to your knees. A love like that knows no limits; once you experience it you can never go back.
Nobody tells you.
Nobody tells you that you’ll never be the same woman after you bring life into the world. Nobody tells you one day you won’t even recognize yourself. Your body changes, your mind changes, everything changes, and it takes some getting used to.
Nobody tells you.
Nobody tells you about the fears you’ll have. Nobody tells you about the strength you’ll gain. Nobody tells you that you’ll eventually stop listening to everyone else but yourself. Nobody tells you that you really do know what’s best for your own children.
Nobody tells you.
Nobody tells you that motherhood is the most exhausting, thrilling, wildest, all consuming, mind numbing, scariest ride of your life. Nobody tells you that motherhood is different every second of every day. Nobody tells you that motherhood brings out the best and worst in you.
Nobody tells you that motherhood is the most beautiful and hardest experience, ever.
